I realised my life had gotten staid, in the sense that everything I do of late has been with with direction and structure- mechanical, not spontaneous. Or at least it didn’t feel that way, and a bit of play and unfocused time out was needed. I jumped on a bus, no book, no headphones, nothing to distract me with or pull my attention away from just looking out the front window - best seats on the upper deck in London. I needed to change the scene from my home and locality. I also needed much clarity and direction to questions swimming and swirling in my mind. After listening to an The Ideas Lab podcast- it was the perfect tonic my needed reset. While often aware of the importance of signs and messages - my bus jaunt was done with the intention of needing interior respite and open to magic, awe and wonder. Streetwisdom created by David Pearl who the podcast was based - creator of ‘walkshop’ inspired me to follow suit to find life’s biggest questions out in the open arena on on streets and surroundings. I certainly did get a few answers to the questions I held in my mind as I went from West to East london. Here is a photo of our historic and iconic building St. Paul’s as I waited on the street for which ever bus next came along on the return leg of my journey home west. The result, I felt calmer, peaceful, lighter, and refreshed. Slept really well too! The doings, the grindstone somehow seemed over take what used to be a regular at least for me adventurings I so frequently did. It’s important to refresh our souls, playing and being in different environment is one such tonic. Pan fry a onion, peppers I used red and yellow as that’s what I had in the fridge drawer for use. Tin of tomatoes, chilli - cook through on the stove or oven. When wilted and all the above cooked through - drop in an egg or two, sprinkle feta and bung it back in the oven. Don’t forget to season. Sprinkle some chopped parsley or coriander or both. Great with flat bread or on its own. It blocks the flow of life and love. ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣During this time, it is essential to surrender all to the Divine. Imagine a hot air balloon and putting all your worries and feelings and anything you have no control over, into it, and give it all up. It helps to release the need to control and allow things for just as there are. We can only modify ourselves and make choices that work for us, what is meaningful to us what is worthwhile. ⁣⁣ ⁣Forgive yourself and the other for any hurt or harm caused. Had a single cooked beetroot leftover so chopped into chunks - adds colour as well as texture. Not to mention nutritional value. Tossed a handful of vibrant leaves from a salad bag - goats cheese from a log. Added a good spoonful of Chermoula paste with half a lemon juice and olive oil. Pour into salad bowl and toss well. Simply delicious, wholesome and a knockout. I ate it on its own and it was fresh, clean and satisfying. Can be served with lamb ribs I reckon for those hankering for some meat. Good thing about ribs though is it’s not over meaty which I think works well with a bit of solid grain salad such as this as there is much in it. Can be made vegan by omitting the goats cheese. I crumbled some feta not pictured for more cheese. Make a good amount and take for lunch the next day. Food has energy types - so choices we make can offer us energetic benefits. This salad is very grounding and calming perfect for the upcoming lunar Eclipse. Helps to flush out meat residue if you have over indulged with meat fest in the west for Christmas. It has a calming affect and helps to reduce inflammation - good for bronchial and common colds. Cheap too so great for a frugal healthy meal. Jazz it up with any good piece of bread, toasted with melted cheese of choice. This perfect beauty is farmer’s market ciabatta with applewood smoked cheddar- a bit of sweetness to the robust beef stock. Nothing more needed.
